Fun Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's definitely been a loooong time since I've shared one of my cards. Last year was a really tough year and I lost my creative mojo for what felt like forever. I've slowly been feeling more creative over the last couple of months and I'm going to try to start sharing more of my cards. I finally figured out an easier way to edit my pictures and I hope to one day learn how to make videos to share!

The card I'm sharing today was inspired by these cards by Jennifer McGuire and it was a lot of fun to make! I used squeezed lemonade, peacock feathers, and picked raspberry Distress Inks for the background. Then I brushed on PearlEx powdered pigments #673 Interference Violet while the ink was still wet just like Jennifer showed us in her video. I ran the cardstock through my Sizzix Big Shot with the Cricut Cuttlebug Modern Wallpaper embossing folder.

I cut the sentiment three times and glued them together for added dimension using the Brushstroke Birthday Greetings Die-namics from My Favorite Things. I added glitter to the letters using a Clear Zig Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush Pen. My pen is messed up though and it always spits out big gobs of glitter while I'm using it. I don't know what I did wrong when I opened it but it's done that since the first time I used it. You can see how much it spit out on the second "p" in happy. If anyone has any tips on how to fix my pen please let me know!

Well, that's the card for today! I hope you like it! I tried to show the sparkle and shine but, as you all know, pictures don't capture just how beautiful our cards are in person! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day! :-)

A Card for Danny

Hello Crafty Friends!

It has certainly been awhile since I felt brave enough to post another card but I just had to post this one!

I made a card on Wednesday night for a little boy with terminal cancer named Danny Nickerson.  His birthday is today and he is turning 6.  There are stories about him all over the internet like this one and his Mother was requesting cards to be sent to him because he loves getting mail with his name on it!  I just learned about Danny's sad story last night and I immediately made a card for him.

My card was inspired by this adorable card made by an awesome paper crafter named Lydia.

So without further ado here is my card...

And here is the inside. I used these fun Souffle pens by Sakura to write my message.

My sweet hubby mailed the card with priority shipping on Thursday morning to guarantee he would have it by tomorrow!  I sure hope he likes it!  I thought he would think it was cool to have a card with his name on it especially since he likes it so much when his name is on the envelopes in the mail!  :-)

Well, that's all I have for today.  Thank you so much for stopping by and if you can please let me know what you think!  It's awfully scary putting your hard work out there in the internet world for all to see and wondering what people think when they see it!  LOL

Till next time!

Success!! (MOJO308)

I'm back with another card for the new Mojo Monday sketch MOJO308.  This card is my favorite so far!  I had my idea super fast!  This sketch definitely got my mojo going!  :) I finished it Monday night after work (technically early Tuesday morning) but didn't get a chance to upload the picture and write this post until today.

Here's my card:

Here is the sketch:

I've never made a round or square card before.  I had to go with square because I don't have the right supplies to make a round card.  Which is fine by me!  I've never been a big fan of round cards.

Hope you like it!  Have a great day!  :)

P.S. I just noticed Michelle Gleeson entry #34 used the same stamp as her focal point!  I swear I didn't see her card first!  Great minds just think alike!  :)

Mojo Monday Sketch MOJO307

Hello again!  Thank you to everyone who took a moment to check out my last card!  I don't know what happened but there was a problem with the comments on my blog.  I had 3 people tell me they left comments but none of the comments showed up!  I did some research and I hope I fixed the problem.  So, if you stop by this week, please try to leave a comment!  I'd love to know what you think of my take on Mojo Monday sketch challenge #307.

I had a bit of trouble coming up with an idea for this sketch and then I had an idea but couldn't figure out what paper to use or what images, etc., etc.  I worked on this card 3 or 4 different times last week and finally finished it last night!  I'm sure part of my problem was I didn't feel very good all week.  It's a bad time of year for my allergies and boy did I have a tough week!  Today is the last day to post a picture of my card on the Mojo Monday website.  I'm so glad I finished in time!

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card (click to enlarge):

I absolutely LOVE this card!!  I love Halloween and I think this card is sooo cute!  :)  It's hard to tell but the little mummy guy is popped up on dimensionals and his eye is a wiggly eye!  Anyone who's familiar with Stampin' Up probably remembers this set from last year's holiday catalog and the googly eyes to go with it!  Even though this card was a struggle for me I had a lot of fun making it.  I hope you like it!

Have a great week and hopefully I'll "see" you later this week with a card for the next challenge!  :)

If anyone would like to order from me please email me at stampinseals@gmail.com and I will be happy to help!  If I start getting orders regularly then I will re-activate my Stampin' Up! website.

My plunge into the blogging world with an entry for Mojo Monday # MOJO306

Hello Internet World!  This is my first blog and my very first blog post.  I'm not really sure what I'm doing so please bear with me!  :)  I am currently a Stampin' Up! demonstrator but so far only as a hobbyist.  I would love to be able to grow my business but mostly I just want to share my creativity with the papercrafting world!

I read a lot of the awesome blogs out there which is what inspired me to create this blog.  I am excited and also very nervous!  :)

I'm fairly new to papercrafting and most of what I create is a CASE of someone else's fabulous work!  Pretty much everything I've learned was through the lovely ladies online who are kind enough to share their creativity with us! I just started using sketches to create cards and so far I've used 3 sketches.

Let's get started with the 3rd sketch I used which is my take on the Mojo Monday sketch for this week MOJO306.  If anyone actually reads this blog please leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Here is the sketch:

Here is my take:

I've never made a card like this before but I really like it!  :)  The supplies I used are all Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted.  Thanks for looking!
